Thesis: Reducing lifestyle diseases using community based sport

This is study of interventions for lifestyle diseases that use community- based sport to provide rehabilitation, disease or risk factor reduction. The focus diseases are cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, type 2 diabetes and obesity. The study identified that more work was being done in this area than reached academic publication, that the work was impactful but its potential under recognised. It went on to develop a framework to address barriers to this work reaching its full potential. The study completed and the thesis was submitted in 2021. The author continues to work on transforming her work into a free app for intervention leaders, to make measurement, reporting, demonstrating impact and securing impact for growth easier.
